Sudden closure
A shop has to close unexpectedly: the owner dials *81 from the counter phone, presses 1, and from then on callers hear a recording about the closure.
Phone system
The On/Off switch is a call switch in your phone system: on, it sends calls to one destination; off, to another. Flip it with a click in the portal or by dialling a code from a company phone.
Some situations no schedule can predict: a sudden closure, a meeting, an emergency, an on-call shift starting early. The On/Off switch is made for this: you decide, there and then, where calls go.
Each switch has two destinations, When on and When off, chosen from any in the phone system: operators, queues, IVR and AI answerers, audio, transfers, callbacks and the rest. Set it as the destination of a number, an IVR key or another module, and calls follow its current state.
Each switch has a phone code: from a company phone dial star and the code, a voice tells you whether it is on, and key 1 flips it. No need to open the portal.
A shop has to close unexpectedly: the owner dials *81 from the counter phone, presses 1, and from then on callers hear a recording about the closure.
The engineer starting a shift turns on the On-call switch: calls go to the transfer to their mobile. At the end of the shift they turn it off and calls go back to the AI answerer.
During the Monday meeting the office turns off the Office switch: calls go to a callback and customers are called back as soon as it ends.
A utility company keeps a switch ready with a service outage recording: when something breaks they turn it on and every caller hears the notice before reaching the queue.
In On/Off switch press New switch, give it a name and pick its phone code, from 1 to 4 digits.
Set where calls go When on and When off; both start as hang up.
Choose the switch as the destination of a number, an IVR key, a queue exit or the out-of-hours route.
In the portal with the toggle in the list or on the switch’s page, or from a company phone by dialling *code and pressing 1.
A switch with two destinations: when it is on, calls go one way; when it is off, the other. It is for situations that do not follow a fixed schedule.
From a company phone, softphone or webphone, dial star and the switch’s code, for example *81. The voice says whether it is on, and pressing 1 changes it.
A time condition changes the destination by itself, following the hours. A switch changes only when you decide. You can combine them, for example by using a switch as the out-of-hours destination.
Yes, each with its own name and code. From the list you can turn them on or off one at a time or all together.
The code must be 1 to 4 digits and differ from your other switches and from the system’s own codes, such as *30 and *31 for operator availability.
